I joined a group build at a forum and decided to go with 1/144 farsia, to be paired up with my 1/144 zeydra.
The main proportion problem, she looks like a kid. Here is snapfit picture taken from dalong.net.
Big head, short torso, short legs. I ended up doing 4mm extension to the waist, and 8mm extension for the calves.
Added some epoxy putty to the ‘ears’ as well. The original is a flat piece of plastic, doesn’t really blend with the feminine look.
My proportion mod ideas comes from here. This guy modeled the best farsia I have seen so far.
Farsia only comes with clenched and open palms. I need a hand to hold weapons.
The exact same trick I used to mod zeydra’s fingers. Epoxy putty + super glue.
Now this, is something new to me.
Heard about a certain brand of rubbery plastic clay (I don’t know what this actually is) called ‘Oyumaru’. I went to Daiso and bought some to try. I got 2 blocks of clay and a dolphin mold for 2 SGD.
It’s translucent and glittery, easy to use for mold making. Here is the written instruction on the package:
1. Cut out the portion you need to use and put n into hot water (more than 176 degree F) for 3 minutes.
2. Take the Oyumaru out of water and wipe it dry.
3. While it is still hot, make the shape you like.
*This product is not edible, to be used under direct supervision of an adult 😀
I am quite satisfied with how it turned out. The mold can capture very good details. I need to duplicate more of this for the backpack.
Now she has a better proportion, customized hands, and customized backpack…
I am thinking of some ideas to replace the flying saucer.
Currently I am kitbashing parts from sinanju and zeydra to come up with some sort of surfboard instead.
Problem is, that 1/144 sinanju shield is not long enough….
